Much awaited wait got over as FDCI was up with its yet another edition of glamour and glitz-  India Couture Week from 15 jul-20 jul, 2014 held at the TAJ PALACE, DELHI in association with Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers and Logix group with famed designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anju Modi, Rohit Bal, Rina Dhaka, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra and many more, ready to mesmerize Indian fashion with their latest designs in haute couture.
“This season promises to be a vibrant celebration of Indian treasures which will get a new-age interpretation by India’s finest couturiers,” said a statement on FDCI’s official site.

Day 2 opened up with an enthralling collection ‘Manikarnika’-by Anju Modi .
Manikarnika is a journey, a peek back in time and now.
Manikarnika is an exploration of the age-old craft and ancient techniques. The embroideries are derived from the architecture, with the paintings of the Ajanta-Ellora caves as perfect muses to the artwork and details.

The color palette mirrored  rich jewel tones of burgundy, ruby, emerald and  the earthy, sepia tones like sand, old rose reminiscent of the centuries past.
It was an absolute treat to see kangna gliding in her graceful timeless contemporary collection as a showstopper for her line’s theme with fabrics and textures that were innately Indian but in modern contemporary silhouettes. Mixing prints, embroidery in majestic colors  with intricate embellishments highlighted her creations.

Manikarnika is a woman of the past, reborn in the present.
